Otilia Lipşa - personal experience

Now that the project is over, I've reached the point where I need to "put on paper" what impact it had on me. To be honest, everything moved so quickly, and all my focus was used to finish the website as quickly and efficiently as possible, that I haven't thought until now about my progress as a person, student, and teammate.

Personal development

From this point of view, I can't say it's the first time I've worked in a team, but I can confirm that it was the first project that offered me challenges, pride, pleasant and unpleasant memories, the first project that made me realize what working in a team truly means, where it was necessary for everyone to give 100% of what they had to offer, otherwise we wouldn't have achieved what we set out to do together.

I believe everyone has heard the saying "Patience can move mountains". I've especially heard it all the time from my grandmother, but I didn't truly understand it until the first disagreement arose between us when we couldn't decide on a detail about the design. One of the most important areas in which I've progressed thanks to this project is communication. It was necessary for each of us to communicate our ideas, grievances, and suggestions calmly and patiently, trusting that everything would fall into place in the end. As a result, I feel I've deeply developed my healthy communication skills, learned to be more patient, calmer, and completely changed my perception of the effectiveness of a conversation held with understanding compared to a heated one.

Another essential aspect for me was time management, as the way we set deadlines for sending certain parts of the project to Alexandra ensured the project's completion in an effective timeframe. I believe this aspect helped me learn to prioritize my activities and organize my time better than I had before, as meeting deadlines is a necessary aspect when working in a team.

Professional development

From a professional perspective, this project gave me the opportunity to improve my skills in HTML and CSS. I watched various tutorials online related to CSS, and I can say that educational platforms were very helpful in teaching me more about both languages. I realized that without using CSS, our website wouldn't have looked the way we wanted it to, so becoming familiar with it was necessary. Additionally, I believe that developing my skills in this area will be beneficial for me in the future.

This project also helped me improve my English vocabulary. Considering that the entire website is written in English, I had to read documents from multiple official sources and informational pages in this language. As a result, my language skills were deepened, unintentionally, just from building the pages dedicated to the pioneers.

In the end, I can say that all the hard work put in by me and my colleagues was not in vain, because when we saw the final version of the project, after many, many drafts, I was filled with pride and happiness, as we managed to achieve what we set out to do. This project was certainly not an easy one, and there were moments of conflict, tiredness, and frustration, but there were also moments of joy, every time an idea looked good when implemented, every time something that bothered us turned into something we laughed about the next time we met, and every time we were left with beautiful memories together after we met to work.💗
